Fishing Report from TPWD (Oct. 20)

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 65 degrees; 2.00 feet low. Water temperature is steadily declining and the fishing is improving. Striped bass are schooling in numbers near McCown Valley and near the Island. Swimbaits and rattle traps will put fish in the boat. Live shad is effective on mid-lake humps and near the State Park. Whitney crappie limits are common near Steel Creek. Largemouth bass to 7 pounds are possible near most creek entrances, with some good reports coming from Cedron Creek.
